Jerez de la Frontera low-emission zone (ZBE): rules, labels & fines

Jerez's ZBE ordinance was published in the Cádiz provincial bulletin on 3 September 2025 and has applied since January 2026. Zone 1, in the pedestrianised historic centre, is closed at all times to vehicles without an access authorisation (residents, garage users, deliveries and others must register), whatever their DGT label. Zone 2 only applies during an air-pollution episode. Camera control started on 15 February 2026, and the city said it would send warnings, not fines, for the first months. The ordinance sets fines of up to EUR 200.

Restrictions

  • Permanent restriction: only authorised vehicles may enter (residents, garage users, people with reduced mobility or periodic treatment, emergency and essential services, technical services, hotels and tourist flats, loading/unloading, events, access to public car parks). The city says the DGT label is not needed: an access authorisation is what counts. Driving through to a public car park needs no authorisation.Ayuntamiento de Jere…Ayuntamiento de Jere…Ayuntamiento de Jere…Ayuntamiento de Jere…

Foreign-registered vehicles

Not verified

Foreign vehicles are not mentioned specifically. Since access to Zone 1 depends on an authorisation rather than a label, any vehicle needs an authorisation category to enter.Ayuntamiento de Jere…

Campervans & motorhomes

No separate rule; Zone 1 is a pedestrianised historic centre where only authorised vehicles may enter, so campervans and motorhomes without an authorisation may not enter.

Exemptions

  • • Service vehicles exempt from the ordinance: medical services, municipal public services, civil protection, fire brigade, police and state security forces, public transport and taxis, private security, funeral services, and bicycles/personal mobility vehicles.Ayuntamiento de Jere…

Notes: The city frames the ZBE as adding no new restrictions: Zone 1 matches streets already closed to general traffic. Licence-plate cameras activated on 15 February 2026 after a registration period from 7 January; the city said there would be no direct fines in the following months, only warnings. No official confirmation that fining has begun was found, so enforcement is recorded as warnings only as last announced (8 Jan 2026).
