Low-emission zones in Spain

Status of Spanish municipalities’ low-emission zones (Zonas de Bajas Emisiones), with each zone’s legal, operational and enforcement status shown separately.

This list covers every Spanish municipality with 50,000+ inhabitants (INE, 1 January 2025), which Ley 7/2021 requires to establish a low-emission zone. Cities marked “Not yet checked” are on our research list; we never show a status we have not verified.

Why don’t we show one simple status? Because a zone can be legally in force while fines are suspended, or annulled in court while signs remain. We show each dimension separately.
