Mataró low-emission zone (ZBE): rules, labels & fines
Mataró's low emission zone ordinance was definitively approved on 6 November 2025 and published in the BOPB on 10 November 2025. Phase I covers the 0.2 km² pedestrian island in the centre on working days from 07:00 to 20:00. The municipal leaflet gives 9 December 2025 as the start of sanctions for vehicles without a DGT label, with limited free-access days for Mataró residents. Phase II is planned to extend the zone inside the ring roads from December 2028. Press reported no fines in the first three months.

Precise boundary geometry is not available in our verified data. Use the official map below.
Notes: Inconsistency in the official text: art. 8.3 says Phase 1 applies 24h every day including holidays, while Annex I (5.2.1) and the municipal leaflet say weekdays 07:00–20:00; the latter is recorded. The sanction start date (9 Dec 2025) comes from the municipal leaflet. Press (mat-diaricat, seen only as a search result) reports zero fines in the first three months, so enforcement is 'unknown'. The Annex I exemption list (5.3) was not read in full.
