San Fernando low-emission zone (ZBE): rules, labels & fines

San Fernando announced in August 2025 that it had started the formal regulation of a low emission zone covering the town centre and historic centre. The announced plan bans B-label and unlabelled vehicles from 20:00 to 08:00 in the first year, and from 15:00 to 08:00 from the second year. No ordinance publication in the provincial bulletin and no start date were found, so legal and operational status are unknown.

Boundary & map

Mainly the town centre and the areas covered by the Plan Especial de Protección y Reforma Interior del Casco Histórico (PEPRICH); other traffic uses the perimeter roads. The council also said the cross axes Ronda del Estero, León Herrero and Pery Junquera will in future be reserved for the most efficient vehicles. No official map found.Ayuntamiento de San …

Notes: Restriction content comes from the municipal news item of 11 Aug 2025 ('San Fernando aprueba la regulación de su Zona de Bajas Emisiones'), which says the council started the formal regulation; it does not say which body approved what or when it starts. A municipal item of 1 Jan 2026 still describes the ZBE as being implemented progressively. No BOP Cádiz publication was found (the BOP search could not be used) and no ordinance text was found on sanfernando.es. All statuses are therefore 'unknown'. The news item mentions petrol cars from before 2001 ('20021' typo in source) and diesel from before 2006 as most affected.
