Santiago de Compostela low-emission zone (ZBE): rules, labels & fines
Santiago de Compostela has no confirmed ZBE in force. A technical project for a ZBE in the pedestrian historic centre was approved in October 2024 (press). The Galician audit office (report approved 16 March 2026) found no ZBE in force as of 31 March 2025 and criticised the design. Press reports that the council later amended its traffic ordinance to allow a full access ban in the ZBE only during declared pollution episodes, with residents and deliveries otherwise unaffected. No ZBE ordinance or official text was opened.
