Tarragona low-emission zone (ZBE): rules, labels & fines

Restrictions

• Vehicles without a DGT environmental label may not enter, drive or park in the ZBE unless authorised.   Vehicles not registered in the municipalityTarragona-domiciled unlabelled vehicles are temporarily authorised (to 31 Dec 2026; ZBE residents to 31 Dec 2027). A June 2026 amendment (initial approval only) would let all Tarragona residents enter until 31 Dec 2027.

Notes: Checked on the council ZBE pages (calendar, FAQ, authorisations, vehicle checker) and news. The ordinance text itself (on the municipal e-office) was not opened. Third-party guides claim 2026 is informative with fines from 2027; the council pages do not say so and we could not confirm whether fines are being issued. The ZBE was suspended from February 2026 and reactivated on 16 Mar 2026 at the Generalitat's request. An amendment was initially approved in June 2026 (not yet final).
