Torrevieja low-emission zone (ZBE): rules, labels & fines

Torrevieja's plenary initially approved a ZBE ordinance on 25 September 2025 for the urban centre/seafront ('Centro Urbano – Fachada Litoral'). Definitive approval and BOP publication were not confirmed. The draft text has no effect until 1 January 2027, when sanctions (€200) would start in zone 1; phase 2 would follow on 1 January 2029. Under the draft, unlabelled cars and motorcycles may enter only if their owners are registered residents or they are authorised. In May 2026 the city awarded the €1.19 million contract to install cameras and sensors.
